How to Set Up Prices

Set up and edit rental and sale pricing on a product, choose per-hour/day/week/month rates, and preview to confirm it calculates correctly.

How to Set Up and Edit Pricing for a Product

This article walks through how to set up pricing for a new product, edit pricing on an existing product, and preview pricing to confirm it is calculating correctly.

Getting to the Pricing Tab

  • Go to Inventory, then Products, and find the product you want to edit or add pricing for. If you are adding a new product, click Add Products first. See the help article on adding products if needed.

  • Click into the product, then go to the Pricing tab.

Adding a Rental Price

  • Click Add Rental Price.

  • Naming the price is optional. You do not have to name it if you don't want to.

  • If you are a multi-location organization, you can select the location box and choose which location this pricing should apply to.

  • Under the unit section, select the type of pricing you are setting up, such as per hour, per day, week, month, or year.

    • Note that month pricing is based on a calendar month, not simply four weeks. If you want pricing based on four weeks, use per week pricing and set the quantity to four.

  • Set the quantity for the pricing period. For example, select per day with a quantity of one for one day pricing, or a quantity of two or three for two or three day pricing.

  • Enter the price amount, for example $100 for one day.

  • Set a start date if desired. Leaving this blank will automatically start the pricing today.

  • Set an end date if you want the pricing to expire on a specific date. Leave this blank if you want the pricing to remain in effect indefinitely.

  • Select how often this pricing should repeat. Select daily if it should be available every day, or select weekly and choose specific days if it should only be available on certain days of the week. These selections can always be changed later.

  • Select whether this pricing should show on the product card, meaning customers can see it when viewing the product on the website.

  • Click Save to create the pricing.

  • Repeat this process for each pricing structure you need, for example a day price, a week price, an hour price, and a monthly price.

Adding a Sale Price

  • If the item is available for sale, click Add Sale Price.

  • Enter the price amount, select a start date if desired, choose whether it applies to specific locations, title it if you like, and click Save.

Editing or Removing Pricing

  • You can come back at any time to edit existing prices, or delete a pricing structure and re-add it as needed.

Previewing Pricing

  • Use the Preview option to test how the pricing works.

  • Select whether you want to rent or buy, and select the dates you want to test.

  • This will generate a pricing breakdown. For example, a $100 per day price over 24 days will show a total of $2,400.

  • Use this to confirm that everything is calculating as expected.

Common Questions

Is month pricing based on a calendar month or four weeks?
Month pricing is based on a calendar month. If you want pricing based on four weeks instead, set up per week pricing with the quantity set to four.

Can I set up more than one pricing structure for the same product?
Yes. You can add multiple pricing structures, such as an hourly price, a daily price, a weekly price, and a monthly price, all on the same product.

What happens if I leave the pricing start or end date blank?
Leaving the start date blank will start the pricing immediately. Leaving the end date blank means the pricing will remain in effect indefinitely.

How do I make sure customers can see a price on the product page?
When setting up the pricing, make sure the option to show it on the product card is selected. This is what allows customers to see the pricing when viewing the product on the website.

Is there a way to test pricing before customers see it live?
Yes. Use the Preview option on the pricing tab, select rent or buy, choose the dates you want to test, and it will show you a full pricing breakdown to confirm everything calculates correctly.
