When the Pass Through Stripe Fee to Customer feature is turned on, any credit card transaction will include Stripe's standard processing fee of 2.9% + $0.30 in the total amount charged to your customer.
Why does the fee look like it's calculated on the total?
With this setting enabled, our system adds Stripe's fee on top of your customer's purchase amount. The calculation is based on the total (purchase + fee) so that after Stripe deducts their processing charge, you still receive the full amount of your customer's purchase.
Example Calculation
If your customer’s purchase is $100, here’s what happens:

After Stripe deducts $3.29, you receive $100.00.
Important
This only happens when "Pass Through Stripe Fee to Customer" is turned on. If this feature is off, you absorb the Stripe fee instead of passing it to your customer.
Your customer is not being charged twice. The fee is only applied once - it's just calculated on the total so your customer's purchase amount is fully covered after fees.
This is a standard calculation method for passing credit card fees through to the customer when using Stripe.
