Got it — this is the same transcript I just expanded, just under a different episode title. Here's the full version relabeled for Episode 7:
Toolbox Talk Episode 7: Demo Day
New Features
Dashboard 2.0 Improvements
The dashboard is now the default landing screen and serves as a daily task view rather than a revenue summary. The old revenue report has moved to its own report under the Reports dropdown.
Orders display as individual cards, split into four sections: Delivery/Pickup and In Store, each further broken into Going Out (rental start date) and Coming In (rental end date).
Cards are sorted so the most time-sensitive order appears at the top. As an order's status is actioned (for example, moved to On Rent or Off Rent), its card automatically moves toward the bottom of that section.
Orders show a live status (Requested, Not Started, On Rent, Off Rent, etc.) so it's clear what step is next.
Filters are available for Today, Tomorrow, Week to Date, and Next 7 Days, as well as by location (or all locations).
New stat cards at the top show fleet utilization, units currently on rent, orders past due, and hard down units for the selected location. Each stat card is clickable and jumps directly to the filtered order list or service/repair screen behind it.
Custom Products
A new Custom option is available alongside Rent and Sale when adding a product to an order, allowing a one-off, ad hoc line item to be created directly from the order screen (similar to adding a line item on an invoice, but available at order creation).
Only a name is required; description, price, quantity, and taxable status can also be set.
Custom products are assigned to a GL account automatically based on a new default set in Accounting or General Settings, but this can be overridden per product if it needs to post elsewhere.
Once added, a custom product behaves like a sale product on the order and can also be added later via Update Order.
Require PO Number and Rep Information (Customer Settings)
Two new checkboxes are available on individual customer accounts, both off by default.
Require PO Number: when enabled, a PO number must be entered before an order can be created for that customer, regardless of payment method.
Require Company Representative: available for company accounts, when enabled, a representative must be added to the order before it can be created.
Bug Fixes & Improvements
Improvement: Send payment notification now allows selecting the recipient email. For company accounts, all representative emails appear in a dropdown (for example, to notify an accounting rep specifically). For non-company accounts, both the primary and secondary contact emails are shown. A manual, ad hoc email can also be entered if the intended recipient isn't already on the account.
Bug Fix: Units can now be assigned to an order even if the unit's create date is after the order's on-rent date. This previously caused an error and has been resolved.
Improvement: Total Tax line removed from invoices when individual jurisdiction display is enabled, since showing both was redundant with the jurisdiction breakdown already adding up to the total.
Improvement: Payout Reconciliation Report now includes summary cards at the top that total fees, payments, and refunds across all payouts within the selected date range, rather than only when viewing a single payout.
Common Questions
Will the dashboard change automatically, or do I need to turn it on?
This is the full release of Dashboard 2.0, replacing the previous dashboard as the default screen when you log in. No setup is required.
Where did the revenue graph on the dashboard go?
It's now available as its own report. Go to the Reports dropdown and select Revenue Report to view it.
Do custom products need to be created ahead of time like regular products?
No. Custom products are created ad hoc, directly on the order (or via Update Order), with just a name required. There's no need to pre-create a product record.
Can I change which GL account a custom product posts to?
Yes. It defaults to whatever custom product account is set in your Accounting or General Settings, but you can change it for an individual product when adding it to the order.
If I require a PO number for a customer, does it apply to every order for that customer going forward?
Yes, once enabled on that customer's account, a PO number will be required for every future order created for them until the setting is turned off.
Why don't I see a total tax line on some invoices anymore?
This only happens if your account has the setting enabled to display individual tax jurisdictions. In that case, the jurisdiction breakdown already totals to the full tax amount, so the separate Total Tax line has been removed to avoid duplication.
