Understanding Admin User Permissions

What each permission lets a user do in Quipli.

Permissions control what each admin user can see and do in Quipli, so every person on your team has access to the parts of the system they need for their job.

💡 To set a user's permissions: go to Admin Users, open the user, and select Permissions. Permissions apply only to the locations selected for that user.

Getting started

Not sure where to begin? Recommended Permissions by Role has recommended setups for common roles like counter staff, mechanics, and accounting. Start from the closest role, then adjust individual permissions to fit the person.

Orders

Permission

What it controls

Orders and dispatch

Gives access to the Orders section (Orders, Create Order, Create Missed Rental, Create Quote) and the Dispatch calendar. Users can view, create, and edit orders, quotes, and missed rentals, and schedule deliveries and pickups. Also required to see orders on the Dashboard.

Edit order pricing

Lets users change rental rates, prices, discounts, and fees on an order, both when creating it and when editing it later. Also lets them add custom products to orders and add line items to invoices on orders and work orders. Without it, pricing on orders is view only.

Override credit limits

When an order or work order would put a customer over their credit limit, users with this permission can optionally override the warning and continue. Also lets them edit a customer's credit limit on their account. Only applies when Enable Renter Credit Limits is turned on in Settings › General Settings › Options.

Add buffer period

Adds Add Buffer Period to the overflow menu in an order's Contract Details section. Users can add extra time around individual products on an order, so they're ready for the next order.

Discount coupons

Gives access to Customizations › Discount Coupons. Users can create, edit, and delete discount codes that can be applied to individual products or entire orders.

Cancel reasons

Gives access to Customizations › Cancel Reasons. Users can create, edit, and delete the reasons available when canceling an order. Users without this permission can still choose a reason when they cancel.

Customers

Permission

What it controls

Users can add and edit customer accounts and manage reviews, representatives, on account requests, and global customer discounts.
