Dustin's Tips & Tricks
Shortcut Buttons (especially for mobile): A dropdown in the top right corner of the platform lets you quickly create a new order, quote, or customer without navigating through menus. Especially useful on mobile for fast quotes or reservations. The globe icon nearby also links directly to your customer-facing website.
Dashboard Lock/Unlock: The icon in the top left of the control panel lets you collapse the side navigation panel for a larger working area, useful when digging into reports or editing an order. It can be re-locked the same way.
Pre-Selecting Duration When Adding a Product to an Order: When adding a product to an order, selecting week or month from the rate dropdown (instead of the default day) automatically pre-fills that duration. You can also select a future start date first, then the dropdown will pre-fill the selected duration starting from that date rather than today.
Quipli Mate: An AI chat tool found in the bottom right corner of the platform that searches Quipli's published help desk articles to answer product questions. Useful for quick self-serve answers before reaching out to support.
Revert Order Status: Found via the ellipses next to the action bar on an order, this lets you revert an order to any previous status (for example, if something was taken off rent but the customer calls back needing it for another week) without creating a new contract.
Show Order Event History: Also found in the top right of an order, this logs every change made to the order, including who made it and when, useful for tracking down mistakes, discounts, or status changes.
Renter Report Date Filter: The Renter Report supports filtering by a custom date range, and lifetime revenue totals can be sorted to see your highest-revenue customers within that period, useful for identifying top customers (for example, for holiday thank-yous).
Searching for Settings via Ctrl+F / Cmd+F: Since the settings page (particularly the Options tab) contains a large number of settings, using your browser's find function is the fastest way to locate a specific one.
Customize Order Number Layout: Found by searching "order number" in Settings, Options. The order number format can be simplified from the default (which includes a reversed date) to a cleaner sequential number (for example, a 6-digit ascending count) via the order number format field.
Text Messaging: Found by searching "SMS" in Settings, Options, and setting Send SMS Notifications to Customers to Yes. Once enabled, this supports texting e-signature links, quotes, and payment notifications to customers in addition to email. This setting is currently all or nothing, it cannot be limited to specific customers.
Fuel and Hour Overage Charges: On an individual product's settings, Hour Tracking allows setting a daily hour limit and an over-rate charged automatically when actual hours exceed the limit at return. Fuel charging works similarly, but requires creating a separate sale product for each fuel type (e.g., diesel, gasoline) with its own price per gallon; this is then assigned to relevant equipment, and a fuel entry field appears at return to calculate the charge automatically.
Product Options for E-Commerce Site: Found under Settings, Product Options, this lets you create custom qualifying questions and answers (for example, "Does it need to be straight or articulating?") that can be applied to specific products on the e-commerce site. These don't add charges or change the order, they simply feed additional information into the order for your reference.
Google Reviews: Requires a Google My Business page. Found by searching "Google" in Settings, Options: turn on Send Order Review Emails, set a delay time before sending (Send Review Email After X Hours), and paste your Google Place ID (found via Google's Place ID Finder tool) into the Customer Google Review Link field. The review email sends to first-time renters after their rental ends, offering a thumbs up (routes to your Google My Business review page) or thumbs down (private feedback form, not published).
Batch Statements: Found by searching "batch" or "unpaid" in Settings, Options, under the setting Unpaid Email Payment Notification. This automatically sends statement emails on a recurring schedule (for example, the 1st of every month) to any customer with an open balance, useful for accounts on net-30 terms or similar credit arrangements.
Filter Out Prepaid and Debit Cards: Found by searching "debit" in Settings, Options, under Quipli Payment Settings. Prepaid and/or debit cards can be disabled as accepted payment types on the e-commerce site, useful for preventing large rentals from being booked with a low-limit prepaid card.
Common Questions
Does the Google review email go out for sales orders too, or only rentals?
This wasn't confirmed definitively on the call and may need to be verified with support, but it's expected to apply to a customer's first order regardless of whether it's a rental or sale.
Can I set up Google review links for multiple locations under one account?
This isn't currently supported. It was raised as good feedback during the call and may be considered for a future update; check with support for the latest status.
Can I turn on SMS notifications for only some customers instead of everyone?
Not currently. This setting applies to all customers at once. More granular customization is expected in the future, but there's no current timeline.
Where do I find my Google Place ID for the review link setting?
Search "Place ID Finder" on Google, use the map tool to search for your business name, and copy the Place ID shown once your business is selected. This gets pasted into the Customer Google Review Link field in Settings, Options.
If I set up fuel charging, do I need a separate product for each fuel type?
Yes. Each fuel type (diesel, gasoline, off-road diesel, etc.) needs its own sale product with its own price per gallon, which is then assigned to the relevant equipment.
