The Credit Utilization report shows how much each customer currently owes against their credit limit — useful for spotting customers approaching their limit before it blocks a new order at checkout.
ℹ️ Good to know: Credit limits are an optional feature. If a customer doesn't have a credit limit set, their Credit Limit and Credit Utilization Rate will show blank on this report — there's nothing wrong, they simply don't have one configured. Where a limit is set, Credit Utilization Rate is calculated as Unpaid Balance ÷ Credit Limit, and exceeding that limit blocks new orders for that customer at checkout.
Step 1 — Filter Your Data
Across the top of the report are six filters. You don't have to use all of them — leave any filter blank and it simply won't narrow anything down.
Filter | What it does |
Customer Status | Filters to customers in a given status, such as Active. Defaults to Active when you first open the report. |
Customers | Narrows the report to one or more specific customers. |
Excluded Customers | Leaves specific customers out of the report rather than narrowing down to them. |
Unpaid Balance ≥ | Only shows customers whose unpaid balance is at least the amount you enter. Defaults to 0.01, so customers with a zero balance are hidden until you clear it. |
Credit Limit ≥ | Only shows customers whose credit limit is at least the amount you enter. |
Credit Utilization ≥ | Only shows customers whose utilization rate is at least the percentage you enter — handy for finding customers who are close to or over their limit. |
Step 2 — Read the Credit Utilization Table
The report is a single table, one row per customer. You can look up or sort by:
Column | What it tells you |
Customer Display Name | The customer's name. |
Unpaid Balance | The total amount that customer currently owes. |
Credit Limit | The maximum they're allowed to carry on account, if one is set. |
Credit Utilization Rate | Unpaid Balance divided by Credit Limit, as a percentage — how close they are to their limit. |
Customer Added At | When the customer record was created. |
Customer Status | Whether the customer is Active or another status. |
Customer Phone | Their phone number on file. |
Customer Email | Their email on file. |
Downloading Report Data
Click the ⋯ in the top-right corner of the table to download the results as a file. There's also an export icon at the far right of the filter bar for exporting the report as a whole.
